The Athens Olympic Games left the largest volunteerism movement in the history of the Games as their legacy.
As hosts of the most successful Olympic and Paralympic Games, the Athens volunteers impressed everyone with their enthusiasm, politeness and hospitality.
Building on this legacy, in March 2005 the General Secretariat for Olympic Utilisation commenced an ambitious volunteerism scheme.
It invites advocates of the volunteerism movement who played a leading role in the Athens 2004 Olympic and Paralympic Games to play an active role again by participating in the General Secretariat's volunteerism scheme.
