The Pancretan Stadium is located in the city of Heraklion on Crete which is the largest city on the island in terms of population. During the Olympic Games it hosted one of the four rounds of the football preliminaries.
The Pancretan Stadium can be accessed by bus. The Stadium can be accessed by car via Heraklion ring road.
Management and utilisation of the Pancretan Stadium has been assigned to "Olympic Properties S.A".
In addition to the uses to which it was put during the Olympic Games the Pancretan Stadium can be used as a training centre and cultural venue and its grounds can be used to host exhibitions in temporary structures. Retail units, catering facilities, leisure and entertainment facilities and offices, doctors surgeries, radio/television studios, tourist accommodation and meeting places can also be established at the Pancretan Stadium.
