One of the largest urban regeneration schemes in Europe was implemented in the Faliro Bay area of Athens to create a state-of-the-art sports complex which includes the Indoor Hall, which during the 2004 Olympic and Paralympic Games hosts the handball, tae kwon do and goalball events, and the Olympic Beach Volley Centre. The Faliro Olympic Complex includes large expanses of green, parking spaces and other support services.
The Complex can be accessed by car via Posidonos Ave. Two of Athens key roads, Kifissou Ave. and Syngrou Ave. lead directly to the aforementioned avenue.
